It’s hard to believe that this is our last newsletter of summer 2024. Six and a half weeks have gone by in a flash, and we've had the time of our lives! If you’ve been reading our newsletters, you know how packed each week has been. This last week of camp was no exception. Before the cleaning, packing, and goodbyes, we had our biggest special event of the summer, Wingate Wars!

This year, when the camp learned that Kris and his fiancée Sara wanted to have their wedding in camp, everyone sprang into action! Staff and campers alike found ways to add to their special day! Making decorations, writing vows, preparing to walk down the aisle and everything else that goes into planning an amazing wedding. When the night arrived, a beautiful ceremony took place in the Wingate Hall.
Spike officiated the wedding and just as Kris was about to break the glass, the ceremony was interrupted by the leaders of the Moon Knights and Sun Heroes, who showed up in the eleventh hour to put a halt to the wedding. They got into their familiar squabble claiming that the Wingate Hall - and everything that took place in it - belonged to them and no one else. The wedding could not continue until the argument was settled.
Who would claim the right to the Wingate Hall, and allow the completion of Kris and Sara’s wedding?
There was only one way to settle it - WINGATE WARS 2024!
After an intense and action-packed two days, The Sun Heroes emerged victorious. With their win, they granted Kris and Sara the permission they needed to continue their special day.
